Rap Artist BIA On Being Discovered By Pharrell And Almost Losing Her Leg In Deadly Motorcycle Accident
“The first day I met Pharrell, I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would and I think it’s because I felt like I was supposed to be there at the moment. God put me there for a reason,” rising rapper and singer BIA said of her audition for Pharrell, one of hip-hop’s preeminent producers.
Although she later departed from Pharell’s i am OTHER record label through a venture under RCA Records, eventually signing with Epic Records, the Boston-native hasn’t let any setbacks knock her off her hustle.
With a few standout tracks under her belt, including her Rihanna-endorsed Billboard 100 hit, “Best On Earth” with Russ, BIA’s star has only continued to rise. Earlier this month, she released her latest single and music video, “Cover Girl” in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.
BIA is keeping it cool and staying fly, even while in quarantine. On BET Digital’s latest installment of 106&Park Mic Check, BIA shared her innermost thoughts with her fans. She revealed the one piece of advice from Pharrell she still carries close to her heart, what she learned from surviving a deadly motorcycle accident and her secret superpower.
