Uncle Luke Challenges Lil Wayne, Diddy and DJ Khaled
Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell might have lost the election for mayor of Miami (he placed fourth), but he still clearly cares about his city. The x-rated rapper wrote an open letter that appeared in the Miami New Times, challenging rappers who live and work in the city to stop “freeloading.”
“I have a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy, and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami,” Campbell’s letter began. “I’m tired of seeing you cats soak up our sunshine, take over our nightclubs, and sleep with our women without investing anything into the community. I want to know when Lil Wayne is going to do more than show up courtside at the American Airlines Arena. Hell, it’s not like he has to pay for the tickets anyway. You know he gets comped. This freeloading must stop.”
He went on to write: “I want to see Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy, and all their boys start doing more for Miami. I want to see them doing fundraisers to help youth sports and after-school programs. I want to see them at FCAT rallies. And I'm giving them a deadline,” he wrote. “They got until January 1. If I don’t see them giving back to the Magic City, I’m gonna have their Miami cards revoked. They won’t be getting into any more nightclubs. They won’t be allowed near our women.”
It will be interesting to see if they take up the challenge.
