Serena Williams Wins Italian Open, Fourth Straight Title
Serena Williams took the win at the Italian Open finals on Sunday, beating Belarus' player Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-3. This is Williams' fourth straight consecutive title this year.
Both players say the match was a struggle, but Williams dominated and scored at key moments. "It wasn't really easy out there," Williams said, according to ESPN. "I just came up with the good shots at the right times."
Williams now has her eyes set on Paris for the French Open, which will begin next Sunday. She will be entering with a career-best 24-match winning streak. She has already taken titles in Miami, Charleston, South Carolina and Madrid.
