Tamar Braxton Wears Nothing But Spanx On Live TV While Revealing She Had A 'Warm Girl Summer With Filters'
Tamar Braxton has been openly on a journey of self-love, self-acceptance, and living her best life on her own terms. Anyone on this path knows it comes with having to shed dead weight— figuratively and sometimes quite literally.
Conveniently, just in time for Self–Care Awareness Month, the 42-year-old singer stepped out in a nude Spanx bodysuit at The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday (Sept. 18), along with a message of being reborn.
“Today marks my birthday. And it’s not my birthday, but it’s my last day wearing Spanx for life,” Tamar revealed after Wendy asked about her choice to wear shapewear, along with heels and designer jewelry.
"Period. I'm done," she continued. "Everybody talking about Hot Girl Summer, I'm lying, I had a Warm Girl Summer with a filter. I'm not doing that no more, I can't. My stomach is having several seats on my lap. I can't live my life like this."
After opening up about her choice to embark on a lifestyle change to be the best version of herself, the mother of one added, "I gotta feel physically amazing to be mentally amazing and I'm not there."
Promising she wasn’t being paid to endorse a workout company, Tamar opened up about pledging to take part in a 30-day transformation.
“Under my clothes, I want to feel amazing and I want to feel amazing no matter what,” Tamar shared before schooling Wendy on her personal truth, “Here is the thing sis, when you don't feel physically good, your mental is all jacked up."
"I just got tired of stuffing my stomach in my pants,” Tamar said before adding her boyfriend, David Adefeso, has been supportive of her 48-hour “fruition.”
As far as the look, 3X Emmy Award-winning stylist, DiAndre Tristan, opened up on Instagram about the shocking moment Tamar revealed to him that she decided to bare it all.
“Linda Listen, the texts reads I want to wear @spanx I go I got you. Now @tamarbraxtom know I bring options upon options,” he wrote on Instagram. “I get to the hotel last night once I unpack I’m showing her the looks she has this look on her face and she goes I want to wear spanx. I pull out a whole bag of spanx she goes, ‘I want to wear just spanx.’”
He continued, “I didn’t understand why she didn’t want to wear a moment [the look] and a Balmain moment at that. The look was a MOOOOOMENT we went back and forth about it as I had this look on my face. We went between the spanx and the moment 4 times lol right before we walked to set the moment came off and we kept the jewelry on.”
He concluded, “PROUD OF YOU sis.”
