Cardi B Reminds People She Once Advocated for Kamala Harris to Replace Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential Race
On Sunday (July 21), Cardi B reminded people that she once suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris should have been the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election instead of President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the presidential race against Donald Trump earlier that day.
The Bronx rapper took to her Instagram account and posted an old video she made in late June. In it, she said she felt that the Democratic party was selfish for letting the 81-year-old run for re-election and that Harris should replace him.
"STOP PLAYING [WITH] ME!!!! Check the date... said this on JUNE 30TH," Cardi B wrote as the caption. "Been told y'all Kamala should've been the 2024 candidate. Y'all be trying to play the Bronx education, baby this [is] what I do!!! Been my passion… Don't let my accent fool y'all."
In a statement after Biden endorsed her as the new presidential nominee, Harris said his decision was selfless and patriotic. “On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office," the 59-year-old said.
