Jordan Peele just made his directorial debut with his highly anticipated thriller, Get Out, and judging from the drones of viewers on opening weekend, the microbudget film was a crowd pleaser.
According to Variety, the conceptual horror movie, which cost $4.5 million to make, garnered a whopping $30.5 million during opening weekend.
On top of its thumbs up from the public, the movie got a rare 100 percent approval rating from critics on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.
The exit polls at the film, in terms of race, also seemed almost even as African-Americans comprised approximately 39 percent of the opening weekend audiences, followed by 36 percent of Caucasians; 49 percent of the total audience was under the age of 25.
