People Are Convinced This ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ Star Is The Frog On ‘The Masked Singer’
It’s almost down to the final wire for season three of FOX’s The Masked Singer, and viewers have one burning question -- who is underneath the Frog mask?
The Frog has quickly become the frontrunner to beat with his high-energy covers like MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” Kriss Kross’ “Jump,” The Gap Band’s “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” 50 Cent’s “In da Club,” Pitbull’s “Fireball,” and a rap rendition of Imagine Dragons’ “Whatever It Takes.”
During Wednesday’s (May 6) episode, The Frog had the judges and crowd enthralled with an electrifying performance of Young MC’s “Bust a Move.” The judging panel, composed of Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, and Nicole Scherzinger guessed everyone from Romeo to Kevin Bacon and Anthony Mackie. In the latest clue package, the “men in black” valets brought out a model of a private jet. Plus, other clues have previously included a plaque inscribed with the word “fame,” $106 in dollar bills, a hawk, french bread, the Japanese flag, and a pair of basketball kicks.
Taken into context together, people are convinced the clues point to no one else other than child star rapper turned actor, Bow Wow.
“The Frog is Bow Wow. The clue was Japan ... and guess who lived in Japan in Tokyo Drift,” one person tweeted, referring to his role as “Twinkie” in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
Another user went even further by breaking down some of clues that have been provided thus far hinting at The Frog’s real identity.
“Japan flag = Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Sneakers = Like Mike. Ice cube tray = Lottery Ticket starring Bow Wow and Ice Cube. Not sure what the keyboard means,” they replied to the show’s official Twitter account.
“The jet was a symbol from the Bow Wow challenge,” a third added. As some may remember, the Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta star was mercilessly roasted online after he misleadingly posted a picture of himself seemingly flossing on a private jet only for social media to unearth that he was flying a commercial. Bow Wow later claimed he merely shared the pictures for aspirational reasons, but the Internet never forgets.
For now, viewers will have to wait and see if Bow Wow is indeed The Frog when he is eventually unmasked, but that hasn’t stopped serious fans of the show from coming up with more theories. See what the Internet is saying below.
