Soulja Boy wasn’t expecting his 26th birthday celebration to turn out quite the way it did.

As reported, the rapper was in a Hollywood studio last night (July 29) when a guest was shot in the arm. His friend and artist, Killa J, took the bullet, which later was reportedly said to have been meant for Soulja Boy himself. Sources close to the recording artist say that the whole thing was an "inside job."

While Killa J is expected to make a full recovery, police have not yet locked down a suspect.

The details of went down are still being investigated but, essentially, Soulja’s crew saw a vehicle suspeciously outside on the security footage and Killa J took it upon himself to investigate. Once outside the studio, he found himself surrounded by four men who demanded that Killa pass over Soulja’s Gucci bag, which he allegedly uses to transport various quantities of cash.

Killa J refused to cooperate with the alleged robbers when things took a violent turn. Luckily his injuries are not life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Hopefully we will have some clear answers soon as to why Soulja Boy was targeted during his birthday celebrations.
