Mary J. Blige's FFawn Honors Concert To Include Queen Latifah And Other Stars
Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah will co-host this year's second annual Mary J. Blige Honors concert in New York to benefit the FFAWN organization. Founded by MJB in 2007, FFAWN (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now) is dedicated to inspiring women to achieve higher goals.
The concert will help raise money to send several young women to college on a full scholarship. According to Boombox, last year's concert featured Blige, Queen Latifah, Taraji P. Henson, Jazmine Sullivan and more, and helped raise enough money to send 25 students to college with full four-year scholarship.
Guests confirmed for this year's concert include Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott and Anita Baker. The concert is scheduled for May 1 the Hammerstein Ballroom.
The mission of FFAWN is to "use Mary's personal story and success to inspire women from all walks of life to reach their individual potential," and "help these women overcome the difficulties they face in their lives and to provide them with the drive and confidence to pursue -- and realize -- their goals and dreams."
