Officials want a word with suspended Florida State University quarterback De'Andre Johnson.

ESPN is reporting that the state attorney's office in Tallahassee, Fla., has issued a notice-to-appear warrant for Johnson, who has been charged with misdemeanor battery.

This comes after the Seminoles suspended Johnson on Thursday after he was accused of punching a female student at a Tallahassee bar on Wednesday night. State attorney Willie Meggs will prosecute the case and told ESPN that he made that decision after reviewing surveillance footage of the incident inside the bar.

Meggs said Johnson punched the woman in the nose and that she still has a black eye. He adds that the video is "very telling" and that the victim "is going to be a good witness."

Since Johnson faces a misdemeanor, he's being served the notice-to-appear and not a warrant for arrest.

Johnson was named Florida's Mr. Football in 2014.
