Rihanna Brings Her Sons With A$AP Rocky to Beginning of Closing Arguments

Jurors may begin deliberation on the rapper’s gun assault trial on Friday.

A$AP Rocky’s sons made their first court appearance during the beginning of closing arguments in the rapper’s gun assault trial.

On Thursday, February 3, the toddlers, RZA, 2, and 17-month-old Riot, were brought to the downtown Los Angeles court by their mother, Rihanna. The singer and entrepreneur attended the trial multiple times, including on dates when she sat alongside Rocky’s mother, Renee Black, and sister, Erica B. As ABC 7 reports, Rihanna and Rocky’s children were heard cooing in the courtroom, and after the rapper held Riot during a break in the hallway, it was when court resumed that Rihanna re-entered the courtroom without their children.

The Thursday court session focused on whether Rocky, who declined to testify, shot a real gun at his former friend, Terrell Epheron, formerly known as A$AP Relli, during a November 2021 altercation in Hollywood. Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, is accused of assault with a semi-automatic firearm on two felony charges and faces a maximum of 24 years.

A$AP Twelvyy, real name Jamel Da'Shawn Phillips, who accompanied Rocky during the incident, along with A$AP Illz (who Rocky claimed to have been protecting), previously testified that Epheron was the aggressor.

While the prosecution has accused Rocky of firing a real gun at Epheron, who was grazed on his knuckles, the defense has claimed that the weapon was a prop gun that shot blanks, although these claims were first made at the trial’s beginning. They also alleged that Epheron planned to extort the Harlem artist.

The jurors are expected to begin their deliberation on Friday, February 14.
