Black Twitter Claps Back at Racist Complaints About 'Dear White People'
This is brilliant.
When we saw "Dear Black People" trending on Twitter, we got very, very worried indeed. Unsurprisingly, the thread began as a response to Netflix's new series Dear White People, which is based on Justin Simien's controversial film of the same name. Apparently, white folks are BIG MAD about the show and are threatening to #BoycottNetflix over it.
Well, cut to "Dear Black People," which is not what you think and actually pretty amazing.
Turns out, Black Twitter responded to white people's call for a show aimed at Black people with some ideas, and they are brilliant.
