Solange Knowles is teaching her son Daniel Julez J. Smith to be quite the little philanthropist. After watching a news broadcast of the recent tsunami devastation in Japan, the singer teamed up with her 6-year-old to create a T-shirt line, “Julez for Japan,” which will benefit victims.

“My son and I, we are on the West Coast still…we woke up on the morning of the earthquake and tsunami, at around six o’ clock that morning, and caught it on television,” Solange told WENN. “He was very affected by it and asked a lot of questions. We decided we wanted to do something together to help. Thus the T-shirts were born.”

The sleek tees are $25 a pop and feature a design inspired by Julez' watercolor interpretation of the Japanese flag that is printed on shirts that were donated by American Apparel. All proceeds will benefit the Peace Winds Japan, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the support of people in distress, threatened by conflict, poverty or other turmoil.

The proud mama put her style spin on the shirt and modeled it with a star-patterned skirt, animal-print heels and round shades.
