Toxicology Report Says Drugs Did Not Cause Amy Winehouse's Death \r \r

The late singer's family says a toxicology report shows there were no drugs in her system—though there was alcohol.

According to Amy Winehouse's family, a new toxicology report says that the late singer did not have any drugs in her system at the time of her death. Considering the fact that the British chanteuse had publicly struggled with substance abuse for years, the news is unexpected, to say the least.
Via TMZ, the Winehouse family released the following statement earlier this morning:
"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death ... Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death ... The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."
Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London on July 23.
