2 Chainz Thinks Rappers Are Awkward, And He Has A Point
2 Chainz recently released his collaborative ColleGrove project with Lil Wayne and has since taken a mini press circuit to promote it.
Recently sitting down with The Cruz Show on Los Angeles’ Power 106, the Atlanta native was asked about a lot of his rap peers and interestingly answered that rappers these days are kind of awkward when it comes to making an initial connection.
“Rappers are awkward to me. We are stupid geniuses,” he explained. “You know what I’m saying? So when I’m in a room full of rappers, you kind of just wait until they be like, ‘Let me get your number’ or ‘Give me your email,’ or you just don’t. You let it come to you. That’s what it is.”
When asked about what hip hop artists he’d like to work with that he hasn’t already it seemed like Tity Boi had his list together.
“I’m a super Kendrick fan and I’m a super Jay Z fan, so that has to happen,” he revealed. “I do know that [Jay Z’s] worked with a lot of artists from Atlanta, whether it be Jeezy or T.I.,” he continued. “That’s the exciting part, that he gave some of us a shot, the southern artists who followed some of the same footsteps, as far as being a young drug dealer turned into an entrepreneur.”
Also during the interview 2 Chainz called his ColleGrove album “fun” and “artistic.” He also revealed that he and Wayne have a surprise show coming up, which now, isn’t a surprise?
