Nicki Minaj Wins Legal Battle with Former Wig Maker
Nicki Minaj has won a lawsuit brought by her former wig maestro Terrence Davidson, reports TheJasmineBrand.com. The hair guru filed suit against the "Anaconda" rapper, claiming she stole the designs he custom-made for her and sold them on her website. Davidson also says Minaj killed his chance of landing a reality TV show.
“Prior to working with Minaj, Mr. Davidson worked with numerous renowned entertainers that had global brands including Patti Labelle and Jennifer Hudson,” the court documents stated. “Minaj, on the other hand, was hardly known in the entertainment industry and had no brand value prior to working with Mr. Davidson.” Davidson sued for $30 million in damages.
A judge dismissed the lawsuit, accepting Minaj's reasoning that Davidson was not a more renowned commodity than she was at the time of their partnership, and that he had no hope of securing a reality TV deal without her involvement.
Though Davidson won't be getting a dollar from his famous former client, he still has his business to fall back on. He continues to style a number of celebrities, including Remy Ma.
