Common And Andra Day Throw Classy Shade At Trump And Pay Tribute To Activists During Oscars Performance
They were singing a song from “Marshall.”
If you were a target of Common and Andra Day’s ire on Sunday night (March 4), that must’ve hurt.
Teaming up for their “Stand Up for Something” collaboration at the 2018 Oscars, the duo decided to make a huge statement.
"Tell the NRA, they're in God's way," the Chicago emcee rapped prior to shouting out Haiti and Puerto Rico. "We stand up for the dreamers, we stand up for the immigrants," a clear shot at Donald Trump and congressional Republicans for holding hundreds of thousands of naturalized immigrants hostage by threatening to end DACA.
Of course, Twitter weighed in and seemed to agree that Common and Andra killed it.
