Kanye West Fans Want To Sabotage Taylor Swift’s Album Release

Get ready for "Hey Mama Day" this Nov. 2017.

Taylor Swift ignited quite a bit of excitement around her album after the release of her music video “Look What You Made Me Do.” But nearly two months until her Reputation album drops, Kanye West’s fans are plotting to sabotage the project’s roll out. The Yeezy mob is reportedly petitioning for a “Hey Mama Day,” scheduled to take place the same day as Taylor’s album due date.

While Ye fans obviously have a vendetta out for T. Swift, the “Hey Mama Day” was originally inspired by the anniversary of the death of the rapper’s mother, Donda West. And after realizing that Taylor’s album and Donda’s death anniversary fell on the same day, stans took it upon themselves to dull Taylor’s shine.

In celebration of “Hey Mama Day,” fans will reportedly stream Kanye’s 2004 track “Hey Mama” in an effort to get it on the Billboard charts. A Facebook event page was also created on Aug. 28, which has already garnered more than 2,000 fan reactions. According to one of the event hosts, Rhys Halkidis, it would take at least 31,250 fans streaming the song on repeat, in order to hit 4.5 million plays, which is slightly over the streaming number “Look What You Made Me Do” did.

Despite fans believing that Taylor is releasing her album on the same day as Donda's passing in spite of Kanye, sources say the move was not deliberate. “It is standard practice that releases come out on Fridays, and we locked in this release date based on other Universal Music Group releases,” Swift’s publicist told People. “There is no correlation.”

At least 4.5 million streams is quite the challenge, but leave it up to Kanye fans to get the job done. “Hey Mama Day” and Taylor Swift’s Reputation release date are set for Nov. 10.
