These Twitter Trolls Are Getting Called Out For Posting Fake Stories About Being Assaulted At 'Black Panther' Showings
They are "trying to ruin a beautiful moment in Black history."
Several Twitter trolls have been called out or had their accounts suspended after posting fake claims about being attacked by Black people at showings of Marvel's "Black Panther."
Many of the false claims used stolen images of actual women who were physically abused in unrelated incidents, reported Buzzfeed.
When people noticed the trolls attempting to tarnish the film with these fake stories, they quickly swooped in with proof.
This poster claimed they were attacked by "black thugs" at a screening and included photos of a bruised and swollen white woman
The above tweet took a photo from a story about an 18-year-old who was viciously beaten over cigarettes
Another troll claimed an "Ohio woman" was treated at a hospital after a Black Panther attack

However that tweet was deleted after many people pointed out the woman in the photo is a Serbian model who made a video about domestic abuse
One Twitter user took an image of former white house staffer Rob Porter's ex-wife, who accused him of domestic assault
The tweet was immediately flagged as fake, especially considering how recent Colbie Holderness appeared on the news

One fake post used a stolen image of a woman who appeared covered in blood
Although the real woman photographed did have a bottle smashed on her, the incident took place at a nightclub, not a movie screening
The viral fake posts and the creators were slammed by people for trying to ruin a great moment in cinematic history
