Major Movie News for Donald Glover and Condola Rashad
Donald Glover and Condola Rashad have some major acting gigs in the pipeline as, according to reports, they both are set to star in two major projects.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Glover is currently in talks to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Sony's reboot of its hugely popular Spider-Man franchise.
The film is set to begin production later this month, with Glover's role being kept top secret. His potential involvement in the film is ironic since, when it was initially announced that Sony was behind a reboot of the franchise, which eventually became The Amazing Spider-Man, a grassroots campaign advocating for Glover to star went viral.
While the movie role ultimately went to Andrew Garfield, Glover still got a taste of the Spider-Man fame when he voiced mixed-race Spider-Man Miles Morales on Disney XD's animated series Ultimate Spider-Man.
In other casting news, Condola Rashad has just wrapped up filming Bikini in New York City, where she is confirmed to play the title role.
According to Deadline, the film "tells the story of a documentary filmmaker and his girlfriend who take a charismatic but troubled woman (the tile role, played by Rashad) into their home, turning their lives upside down."
Condola Rashad, the daughter of iconic actress Phylicia Rashad, rose to fame for her incredible stage performances in Ruined, Stick Fly, Romeo and Juliet and The Trip to Bountiful, making a name for herself in the entertainment business.
