Cee Lo Green and “The Voice” Premiere Score Big
Last night’s debut of The Voice was a huge one for NBC. The talent competition—which features superstar mentors Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton—features blind singing auditions that focus solely on, you guessed it, the voice.
The two-hour premiere aired last night at 9 p.m. It scored 11.4 million viewers in its first hour, which meant it was second to Dancing With the Stars (18 million), but ahead of fourth-place finisher, Glee (4.6 million). Even better, it increased viewership in the 10 o’clock hour to 12.2 million, to secure the network television timeslot lead. It did well with young people across the board, leading in the 18 to 49 age group the entire show. The premiere will re-air tonight at 9 p.m.
