Police Say Beanie Sigel Was in 'Wrong Place, Wrong Time'
Beanie Sigel was an "unitended victim" of the bullet that hit him in the abdomen, exited out his back and has him hospitalized some five days after the incident, Pleasantville, NJ, police report.
"He may have become involved in something that was not necessarily his own doing," Lt. Danny Adcock told Philly.com. "Just wrong place, wrong time, if you will."
The Philly-reared rapper was living at his brother-in-law's home in Jersey when the shooting occurred last Friday (Dec. 5) morning. Apparently one or possibly two vehicles rode through with occupants who opened fire.
Moments before, Sigel had dropped off his children at their elementary school.
He's now in critical but stable condition at an Atlantic City hospital, Adcock said. He's been awake at times and is breathing with the aid of a ventilator, unable to speak to investigators.
Sigel's 22-year-old in-law had minor scrapes and bruises and is not offering police any details about how he got them. He's not a suspect in the shooting, but is being questioned about possible involvement. He's been arrested twice, once for possession of an illegal firearm, and once for possession of drugs, in recent years.
As for Sigel's record, the "Feel It in the Air" MC has his own history with weapons possession and survived multiple gunshot wounds during a 2006 incident.
"Please keep the prayers coming for my brother @beaniesigelsp!!!!" his State Property comrade Freeway tweeted out yesterday.
