America's Got Talent May Have Found Nick Cannon's Replacement

See who they've chosen to go with after Marlon Wayans' refusal.

It seems as the folks at America's Got Talent are getting that much closer to signing Nick Cannon's replacement as host.

According to TMZ, the popular talent competition series is gearing up to sign another Black male comedian after Marlon Wayans declied their offer.

Though the deal is not done just yet, reports state that Brandon Mychal Smith is ready to sign on to be the next host of AGT any day now.

The site reports that Wayans was the showrunners' first choice because he comes with an already established brand and fan base and was also a guest judge on the show in the past.

However, after going back and forth between both sides, the negotiations fell through as the comedian allegedly wanted more money than NBC was willing to offer.

Going with Smith will reportedly cost them much less and will be more of a seamless transition as his brand is not as widespread and independent as Wayans'.

The source TMZ contacted also added that deals like these sometimes fall apart at the last minute, but Smith is very likely to get the job.
