Look Who's Signed Up for Obamacare

President Obama chose a bronze plan through the D.C. health insurance exchange.

In a symbolic gesture, President Obama has enrolled in a health care plan through the Washington, D.C., exchange. Like 85 percent of Americans, he gets his health insurance through his employer and will continue to receive medical care provided by the military.

But "as a show of support for these marketplaces which are providing quality, affordable health care options to more than a million people" and to promote his signature legislation, Obama signed up over the weekend, a White House official told reporters who traveled to Hawaii with the president. He chose a bronze plan.

The White House also announced Monday that the deadline to enroll for coverage that begins on Jan. 1 has been extended through Tuesday, Dec. 24.
