Viral Video Sparks Snoop Dogg’s Interest In Re-Signing Former Death Row Artist

The West Coast legend was very impressed.

Snoop Dogg has had the reigns of Death Row Records for a few years now, and as Tha Dogfather of the operation, he’s signing whoever he’s a fan of.

BET profiled October London, who is one of the label’s flagship artists, back in May for our #OnTheVerge series. The famed label, which was founded by Suge Knight back in the early 1990s, is apparently looking to expand in the current day, and perhaps Snoop’s found one of his imprint’s newest talents. Ironically though, the artist had already been signed to Death Row in a previous era.

On Tuesday (September 19), the Doggystyle rapper took to his Instagram account to share one of many clips posted by the account They Have The Range, which featured a 45-year-old Danny Boy signing just as well as he did back in the day.

Apparently impressed by the artist’s range, Snoop captioned his post: “Your seat on Death Row awaits you [Earth emoji, microphone emoji, music-note emoji, microphone emoji, Earth emoji] @dannyboysteward.”

Danny Boy appeared on multiple hooks via Tupac songs on the albums The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory and All Eyez on Me. He also appeared on the Murder Was the Case soundtrack in 1994, which became one of Death Row’s defining records.
