2023 Oscars: ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Nominated In Six Categories
Nominations for the 2023 Oscars have officially been announced, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been nominated in six categories!
Angela Bassett is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The Marvel film is also nominated for Best Costume Design (Ruth Carter); Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Camille Friend and Joel Harlow); Best Original Song (“Lift Me Up” Music by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson; Lyric by Tems and Ryan Coogler) and Best Visual Effects (Geoffrey Baumann, Craig Hammack, R. Christopher White, and Dan Sudick).
In addition to Black Panther’s recognition, Brian Tyree Henry is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as James Aucoin in the drama film Causeway.
The 2023 Oscars will take place on Sunday (Mar. 12) at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood with Jimmy Kimmel back as the host after hosting the show in 2017 and 2018. Last year, Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer hosted the highly anticipated event.
