TLC’s T-Boz Recovering After Hospitalization for ‘Severe Abdominal Blockage’
T-Boz is on the road to recovery after being diagnosed with a “severe abdominal blockage,” which unfortunately led her and her TLC bandmate Chilli to cancel several shows.
The pair had just arrived in Syracuse, NY, on Friday (Aug 23) when T-Boz, born Tionne Tenese Watkins, suddenly fell ill right before hitting the stage at the New York State Fair.
TLC’s official Instagram account broke the news to fans, explaining that the group couldn’t perform in Syracuse or at their Foxwoods, Connecticut show. The message revealed that T-Boz had experienced “sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps.”
She was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a “severe abdominal blockage” and kept her for a CT scan and further observation.
Two days later, T-Boz took to Instagram to reassure her 1.2 million followers, writing, “I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over!” She added, “I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All…”
A representative for the Grammy-winning group told USA TODAY that T-Boz is “doing great!!” and explained, “It was just one of those freak things that can happen to anyone who’s had abdominal surgery. In Tionne’s case, it’s related to scar tissue from a c-section years ago that can cause irritation and lead to a blockage.”rplm7w
As of Tuesday, August 27, it’s unclear if T-Boz has been discharged from the hospital. However, according to TLC’s official website, the pair is still scheduled to perform in Highland Park, Illinois, on August 31, with more tour dates planned through October 3.
