Dennis Rodman Is Offering To 'Straighten' Things Out Between Trump And North Korea
Dennis Rodman's friendship with North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, was forged back in 2013 when the NBA Hall of Famer led a group of American players to the country for an exhibition basketball game.
Now, with the situation ultra tense between President Trump and Jong-un, Rodman is offering to "straigthen things out" and thaw the icy relationship between the United States and North Korea.
“I don’t love (Kim). I just want to try to straighten things out for everyone to get along together," Rodman said yesterday on Good Morning Britain, as reported by Reuters.
That might be a hard-pressed feat to accomplish, considering the contentious situation between the countries and the fact that Rodman has rarely talked about politics with Jong-un.
“For me to go over there and see [Jong-un] as much as I have, I basically hang out with him all the time," Rodman said, as reported by Reuters. "We laugh, we sing karaoke, we do a lot of cool things together. We ride horses, we hang out, we go skiing, we hardly ever talk politics and that’s the good thing."
For whatever it's worth, Rodman was a contestant on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice, so he has familiarity with both the celebrity-in-chief and Kim Jong-un. Whether that would spell an avoidance of war and some kind of resolution between the U.S. and North Korea remains to be seen.
But we guess it's worth a shot at this point, considering North Korea reportedly tested a hydrogen bomb just this past Sunday. Welp.
