Exclusive: 'The Harder They Fall' Director Jeymes Samuel Reveals The Follow Up Will Be A Prequel
"The Harder They Fall," released in 2021 and directed by Jeymes Samuel, was a groundbreaking Western that reinvigorated the genre with its unique blend of historical figures and fictional characters. In an interview with BET.com for his upcoming film "The Book of Clarence," Samuel exclusively revealed the follow-up will be a prequel.
Samuel told BET.com, "Right now, I'm just finishing the scripts for 'The Harder They Fall' sequel. I knew the whole story before so I just had to sit down and pen it out."
He continued, "But I'll tell you this and this is an exclusive to BET, it's a prequel. There's a few actors [we'll] have to call upon again... 'The Harder They Fall' prequel is going to be a wicked film. I'm working on titles now."
As Jeymes Samuel works on the prequel to "The Harder They Fall," fans of his work can prepare themselves for the highly anticipated "Book of Clarence," which stars LaKeith Stanfield and Teyana Taylor. The biblical comedy-drama is produced, written, and directed by Jeymes Samuel drops on January 12.
