No Jail Time for Nelly on Drug Charges
Nelly is a little bit closer to clearing his name as he was given a huge break in court on Friday. During his hearing for drug charges dating back to April, the rapper's attorney persuaded the judge to qualify him for a pretrial diversion.
According to TMZ, the MC pled guilty in the Tennessee court to possession of marijuana and drug paraphernilia. After his lawyer stated his case to allow his client the pretrial diversion, to which the judge agreed, it was confirmed that Nelly's record can be wiped clean — only if he stays on the straight and narrow, though.
Cops pulled Nelly's tour bus over back in April and arrested him for possession of pot and MDMA. His attorney later said that the MDMA didn't belong to the "Pimp Juice" rapper.
