Keke Palmer Remains Unbothered in Usher’s ‘Boyfriend’ Music Video After Relationship Drama

The duo appears to still be riding the wave of last month’s Las Vegas residency drama.

Usher and Keke Palmer’s Vegas antics aren’t over just yet.

Just days after hinting at their collaboration, the duo took center stage once again in the Las Vegas-inspired music video for Usher's latest single, "Boyfriend."

The video showcases Palmer preparing for a girls' night out. It then ends in an electrifying dance sequence featuring Palmer and the seasoned industry veteran.

Palmer praised Usher’s talent in a Twitter post shortly after the video’s release.

"Usher! I remember when I was 12 and auditioned for 'In The Mix' 🤣 You have been killing it all my life,” she wrote. Palmer then continued, “As a true lover of the arts, your talent and craftsmanship are a rare combination that I aspire to achieve as a performer. You are a living legend who is worthy of awe!”

The “Nope” star later thanked Usher “for encouraging me and seeing me as the entertainer I am.” The actress added, “I know I’m a gUrL but when I watched your videos, I never wanted to be the girl in them, I wanted to be YOU. Thank you for making a dream come true.”

This new project arrives on the heels of last month’s incident involving Palmer and her now ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson. Jackson took to his social media page to express his unease over a video clip of Usher serenading and dancing with Palmer during his Las Vegas concert over July 4th weekend.

In a since-deleted tweet, Darius quoted a clip of the since-viral encounter stating, "It's the outfit tho.. you a mom.” Jackson’s comments quickly sparked debates across social media.

In another tweet, the aspiring actor added, "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case."

Neither Palmer nor Jackson has publicly addressed the incident. But the actress did subsequently launch merchandise featuring the phrase "I'm a Motha." And she went on to seemingly reference the same line in Usher’s video.
