Bruno Mars To Premiere First-Ever Primetime TV Special 'Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live At The Apollo'
R&B, pop, funk, soul (and everything in between) artist Bruno Mars is still unloading gems from his shiningly successful, funkateer-mastered opus, 24K Magic.
Now that funk music’s golden star has brought the melting genre pot of tunes on wax, it was only right that he bring it to fans in real-time, which is exactly what he’s doing for his brand new CBS television exclusive, Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo.
Partnering with the broadcast network, it all went down at Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater in New York City. Bruno is most notably known for taking his fans to remarkable new heights with his invigorating sound as well. So, when he and his Hooligans band kicked things off on top of the theater’s marquee, fans were in for an astonishing surprise and a NYC night to remember forever.
After making his way down to the streets, Mr. "Uptown Funk" keeps the party going as he glides through the city for even more magical moments with fans and locals. And it doesn’t stop there, as tapings for the show will proceed into forthcoming weeks and reveal unseen performances from Bruno. From the “best performer in the world,” as Bruno’s executive producer for the special Ben Winston dubs the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, it’s an epic TV moment that fans won’t want to miss.
“To be producing his first television special is a true honor,” Winston said. “This will be a special show and a special night.”
Running neck-to-neck with legends like Elvis Presley on Billboard’s Hot 100 for No. 1 hits among male soloists and heralded as the No. 1 male talent with the most Hot 100 No. 1s in the current decade, Executive Vice President for Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS Entertainment Jack Sussman sings much-deserved praise to Bruno as well.
“Bruno Mars is the ultimate live performer of this generation,” Sussman acknowledged. “He is the very definition of event television. He burns the roof off the Apollo while paying respect to its tradition and history. We at CBS are proud to be broadcasting his first TV special.”
Fans will be graced by the magic when the special airs on Wednesday, November 29 at 10:00 p.m- 11:00 p.m. ET/PT via CBS. In the meantime, relive the album's lead title hit, "24K Magic" below.
