Zendaya Makes Surprise Coachella Appearance for the First Time in Eight Years
In 2013, Zendaya dropped her first and only full solo album, "Zendaya," which included her debut single, "Replay," earlier this month the single was officially certified three times platinum.
Last weekend she took to the stage to remind audiences that while she is the youngest actress to win back-to-back Emmys, she still has vocal skills.
Zendaya joined friend and collaborator, Labrinth, during his Coachella set to sing two songs that they co-wrote. "I'm Tired" and "All for Us," have both been featured on Zendaya's hit HBO series, Euphoria.
According to E! News, the actress gushed about the experience on social media. "I cannot express my gratitude enough for this magical night," she wrote on her Instagram Stories after the performance. "Thank you to my brother @labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on a stage again. And to the crowd tonight...wow my heart is so full, I can't thank you enough for the love I received tonight, made all my nerves melt away. I'm so grateful."
The pop-up appearance doesn't mean that Zendaya is returning to her musical roots. In a chat with fellow Spider-Man star, Andrew Garfield for Variety, the 26-year-old star said, "I was talking to [Euphoria creator] Sam [Levinson] about this earlier. I was like I don't know if I could ever be a pop star."
She added, "It's because as an actor, there's a level of anonymity that I get to have, which I really like."
HBO announced last year that Euphoria would be returning for a third season. According to Deadline, the show will most likely return in 2024.
