Report: Damian Lillard to Sign $120 Million Extension With Portland

All-Star point guard will remain a Trail Blazer.

The Portland Trail Blazers' thinking is simple — if we're going to lose one All-Star to free agency, we better wrap up the other long term.

Amid reports that All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge likely will not re-sign with the Trail Blazers, the team is nearing a five-year extension worth upwards of $120 million with All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, as reported by ESPN.

The extension is set to kick in at the beginning of the 2016-17 season and will keep Lillard from being a free agent next summer.

The NBA's 2012-13 Rookie of the Year has put together back-to-back All-Star years and is coming off scoring a career-high 21 points with 6.2 assists per game this past season.

The Trail Blazers finished the regular season with a 51-31 record before suffering a five-game, first-round playoff loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
