T.J. Holmes Makes Vibe’s Juice Crew List
So far no one is sleeping on the talents of talk show host T.J. Holmes.
Holmes, a former CNN anchor and now host of BET’s new late night news series Don’t Sleep, just ranked among the hottest of Vibe’s 2012 Juice Crew, according to Vibe Magazine.
Don’t Sleep is a late night news and current event talker that infuses wit and charm, but presents the headlines of the day from a unique African-American perspective. The show was born when BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill, watched Holmes host an awards breakfast and saw the 34-year-old mix his knowledge of current events and personality to call out audience members.
“There’s no [network] where African-Americans can get home at night, turn on the TV and see somebody that looks like them, talks like them, talking about an issues that actually matter to them,” Holmes told VIBE. “I’m glad BET’s willing to grab a guy like me, with my credentials, for a venture like this. It's a responsibility that I take seriously.”
