See The Most Flawless Hair And Makeup Looks From The 2018 Grammys
Soft and subtle was the name of the game at last night's 2018 Grammy Awards.
It's debatable whether the biggest night in music is a time to go for it — Tyler, the Creator debuted leopard hair— or play it safe. In the case of red carpet veterans or newbies like SZA and Cardi B, they chose the latter, opting for more subdued makeup looks — think glowing skin, come-hither lashes and neutral glossy lips (Rita Ora broke the mold and chose a $3 crimson red lip!)
On the flip side, it turns out everyone was having fun with their hair. Even though she skipped the carpet, it was hard to ignore Beyoncé's thigh-grazing braids (more on that later!), mom-to-be Chrissy Teigen's sexy new lob and Rihanna's Donna Summer-meets-Diana Ross "Wild Thoughts" performance look.
Scroll down to see who else slayed the carpet last night. And of course, don't forget to tell us who YOUR faves were in the comments!
Beyoncé
While we were disappointed she didn't hit the carpet, Beyoncé's glam was worth the wait. L'Oreal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist Sir John created a signature violet lip (he used L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lip Liner in Strike A Matte-ch, $9, and a blend of YSL Beauty Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in Fuchsia Intime & Carmine Encounter, $36 each) for Queen Bey. Plus, a soon-to-be released Glossier product we can't wait to get our hands on.
Of course, you can't ignore her waist-length cornrows accented by a hat—the look has her long-time hairstylist Neal Farinah playfully coining her "Beyquisha." Considering she had a completely different look for the Roc Nation brunch, we can only imagine how long her latest style took.
Cardi B
For her red carpet Grammy debut, Cardi turned to makeup artist Erika La' Pearl Roman and Hollywood's favorite wig maker, Tokyo Stylez. The Bronx beauty kept it all the way real and used drugstore lashes by KISS (roughly $6 each) mixed with products from Ofra Cosmetics, sold at Ulta. Her soft up-do was slightly bridal — which makes us wonder if she's testing out looks for her big day.
Rihanna
RiRi also skipped the carpet but hit us with a super sexy, Studio54-esque glam look. "The idea was to make Rihanna look like a fluffy dream," her stylist, Yusef Williams shared, citing both Diana Ross and Donna Summers as inspo. Surprisingly, the look only took 45 minutes from start to finish. See below for a full breakdown.
"I prepped her hair [with] Biolage R.A.W. Frizz Control Styling Spray and then used the ghd air hairdryer ($199, ghdhair.com/us) to add some volume and then used the new ghd gold professional styler ($199, launching Feb. 1) to smooth out the root and get rid of flyaways. Then I used the styler and ghd classic wave wand ($199, ghdhair.com/us) to create voluminous curls and waves. To set the curl, I used Matrix StyleLink Style Fixer, the Matrix StyleLink Airy Builder and the Matrix StyleLink Smooth Setter."

SZA
First-time Grammy attendee SZA literally looked like she floated down from above. Like Queen Bey, SZA’s makeup artist, Samuel Paul, also used Glossier products, including their Lip Gloss ($14), cream blush Cloud Paint ($18) in Beam, and Boy Brow ($16) in Brown — along with Super Glow ($24) serum and Priming Moisturizer ($22) to prep the skin. Per usual, she kept her hair light and free-flowing, which turned out to complete her moving performance of "Broken Clocks."
Eve
There's no doubt that when you go bra-less at a big event, beauty-wise you can basically do what you want. Which was exactly what E-V-E did. She drew just the right amount of attention away from her plunging neckline with caramel-colored hair in loose waves and parted to the side. She completed the looks with fresh, rosy cheeks and long lashes. A+ in our book.
Chrissy Teigen
We were excited to see a very preggo Chrissy Teigen join hubby John Legend on the carpet last night. The model, writer and chef skipped her usual long, dramatic lengths for a short, wavy bob created by celeb hairstylist Jen Atkin (who also works with the Kardashians). Naturally, Jen used her own product line, OUAI—Khloe is a fan—prepping the hair with a mix of the Volume Spray ($26) and Wave Spray ($26), drying with Dyson Supersonic Dryer ($400) and finishing with OUAI's Texturizing Hair Spray ($26). The result? Total MILF status.

Ashanti
Ironically, with her latest single called "Say Less," Ashanti recognized that when you go for the gusto with a bold Elie Madi gown, it's wise to keep hair and makeup simple. Her MUA, Angie Martinez, who frequently works with Keyshia Ka'oir, breaks down her full look here, highlighting key products like Lilly Ghalichi lashes (starting at $20), Make Up For Ever Stick Foundation ($43), and "a little bit of M.A.C. lipgloss" to quote rapper Shyne. Hairstylist, Kalief Wolfe switched it up on us and gave 'Shanti a super sleek, asymmetrical bob. We're not mad at it!
Rita Ora
What do you do when you're rocking a slit up to there? Turn up the sex appeal even more. Rita Ora made us do a double take when she hit the carpet channeling the epitome of Old Hollywood glamour in a Ralph & Russo Gown. But the singer's red lip — Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Plum This Go ($3) — makes this an affordable look you too can easily recreate.
Hennessy Carolina
While she's not a musician, it would be a major miss for us not to include Cardi B's little sister, Hennessy Carolina, in our round-up. It's super sweet that her older sister chose her as a date instead of fiancé Offset for such a big night. Both ladies looked angelic (and bridal *hint, hint*) thanks to glowing, pared-back makeup and simple hair. After all, there's nothing stronger than a family bond right? #Twinning.
