NY Post's Front Page Shades Oscars With Snow Storm Forecast
The New York Post has taken the Internet by storm with its Thursday front page. "This weekend will be whiter than the Oscars," the headline reads. The hilarious meme-like cover went viral as it capitalized off the recent trending topic "#OscarsSoWhite."
The Academy Awards has been under fire for nominating only whites in their top categories including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Actor, and Supporting Actress and Actor. Jada Pinkett-Smith and director Spike Lee have spoken out against the lack of diversity this year.
In the meantime, winter storm Jonas is expected to drop a foot of snow on the Big Apple. Dangerous blizzard conditions may also impact Washington, D.C., Baltimore and across the Northeast this weekend, according to The Weather Channel.
The New York Post is known for their scathing front covers and are no stranger to controversy because of their word usage. Wednesday they referred to Sarah Palin and Donald Trump as "Lady and the Trump," as she announced her support for him in the forthcoming 2016 election.
