Double Take: Naomi Campbell vs. Beyoncé in Gucci
Uh-oh! Two of our favorite divas were snapped in the same cut-out, beaded Gucci dress for two different magazines recently. Naomi Campbell will pop up on newsstands in the metallic number for the June 2011 issue of Japanese Vogue while Bey has already been there and done that dress for the controversial March 2011 L’Officiel Paris issue.
Of course the supermodel knows how to strike a pose and she Vogued elegantly in her cover shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Naomi kept her signature waist-length straight hairstyle and added a pop of color to the look with red nails.
Beyoncé, on the other hand, got sassy with it, shooting the camera a sultry glare with her hands on her hips, as the dress clung to her every curve. Beyoncé wore an "African-inspired" look during a shoot that was supposed to be a nod to Nigerian singer Fela Kuti, but ended up causing a stir with images that had the songbird posing in blackface. For the cover, Bey complimented the dress with a braided up-do and dark nails.
Although Naomi’s the professional model, Beyoncé gave her a run for her money on these near identical covers. Don't you think? Sound off in our comments!
