Huh? Lee Daniels Addresses 'Racism' Controversy in the Most Bizarre Way
Lee Daniels came under fire last week after he made some comments about his casting choices for his upcoming FOX series, Star.
The Empire creator said he chose a white woman as the female lead because the country needed to heal, and from here he went on to explain that he does not embrace racism, but it seems as he's had a change of heart.
"I wouldn't be where I was if I embraced racism," he told the ladies of The Real. "If I embraced it, then it became real. And if it became real, I would be an angry Black man."
After receiving an onslaught of backlash because of these comments, Daniels posted a video to Twitter saying everyone needs to watch the entire video to see what he meant.
"Of course I see racism in America!" he said. "I'm a 57-year-old Black man. Duh! Haters gon' hate, man. I can't win on this one. You know what I mean? Watch the interview. Watch the entire interview."
