UPDATE: A police dashboard cam video was released Wednesday that shows a New Jersey police officer fatally shooting Jerame C. Reid as he raised his hands during a traffic stop on Dec. 30 in Bridgeton City, NBC reports.

The footage shows officer Roger Worley aiming his weapon at driver Leroy Tutt and officer Braheme Days aiming at Jerame C. Reid, who was sitting on the passenger side.

The officers ordered both men to show their hands. Seconds later, Days demanded that Reid not move and threatened to shoot him. "You're going to be ... dead. If you reach for something, you're going to be ... dead," Days yelled.

Days said that Reid was reaching for something and seconds later, Reid exits the vehicle with his hands up and Days shoots him six times. It is not clear whether Reid or Days opened the door.

A New Jersey man is one of the latest victims in police shootings that have been brought to the national spotlight through ongoing demonstrations.

Jerame C. Reid, 36, was killed on Dec. 30, in Bridgeton City, New Jersey, during a traffic stop with state troopers, according to NJ.com. His family has hired an attorney to conduct an investigation into the incident and to be sure "all evidence is preserved," Philly.com reports.

Braheme Days shot his weapons at him. Reid was a passenger in the vehicle and during a search, a weapon was "revealed," according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. 

Reid had previously spent 13 years in a state prison for firing three rounds at state troopers in Atlantic County, New Jersey, in 1994 when he was 15 years old, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

A medical examiner has performed an autopsy on his body, but the report has not been made public as of yet, Philly.com writes. Reid's funeral has been scheduled for Jan. 10.
