Snoop Dogg Shoots for World Record in Retweets
With four million Twitter followers under his belt, rapper Snoop Dogg now wants to accomplish another milestone: a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records for most retweets. The record was unofficially set by Reverend Run in 2010 with his daily Words of Wisdom.
On Tuesday, he tweeted, "moment of silence 4 tha world's biggest chronic break. need my twizzles 2 pass this cyber blunt #puffpuffpasstuesdays RT." The goal was to get as many people to retweet the message in 24 hours.
And he didn't stop at Twitter to promote his mission as the rapper also took to Facebook and Ustream.
"Hitting four million Twizzles is a big moment for me and I want to thank all my fans for their continued support," Snoop Dogg told AllHipHop.com. "I want to show the world how powerful and influential social media and my fans are, which is why I am attempting to set the world record for the most 'retweets' on Twitter."
