Here's The Very Normal Name Kim Kardashian REALLY Wanted To Name Chicago

It didn't get the Yeezy stamp of approval.

Chicago West, the third child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, is coming up on 4 months already and we’ve finally adjusted to her celebrity-centric name. However, Kim spilled the beans on her what she REALLY wanted to name the infant delivered via surrogacy. The 37-year-old mom of three visited the family’s favorite talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently to catch up fans up on all things Kardashian and revealed that she liked the name “Jo” in honor of her grandmother, Mary Jo.

“It kind of messes with me. I’m not going to lie. I really liked the one syllable thing,” Kim explained.

“Um, it was between…we were going to name her “Jo” cause my grandma, Mary Jo. Or we were going to go with “Grace”. And then it was Chicago.”

Ellen then asks, “Because Kanye wanted Chicago? Cause he’s from there?” And while yes of course that’s true since afterall as Kim explains “that is a place that made him,” Ye’ really wanted to name his second daughter after his late mother, Donda West. “He really wanted his mother’s name and I love that name too. I just wasn’t sure. It’s so much to live up to.”

Kim still found a sly way though to make her one syllable dreams come true. The family’s nickname for baby Chicago is “Chi”. And we’re with Kimmy on this one, it’s “cool and different.”

Watch the a clip of Kim’s Ellen interview where she talks baby names as well as Kanye’s love of Connect Four that made it into the hospital during Chicago’s delivery!
