Denzel Washington Squashed Feud with Quentin Tarantino
File this under the category of who knew? Apparently Denzel Washington had a slight behind the scenes beef with Quentin Tarantino. In an interview with GQ Washington remembers having problems with the Django Unchained director because of what he believed to be racist dialogue that Tarantino added to his 1995 film Crimson Tide. But the two-time Academy Award winning actor said he had to personally move on from the incident.
“I buried that hatchet. I sought him out ten years ago,” Washington told GQ about his prior grudge. “I told him ‘Look I apologize.’ You’ve just gotta let that go. You gonna walk around with that the rest of your life? He seemed relieved.”
Now today, the two Hollywood players have come full circle. Washington’s eldest daughter Katia recently worked on Tarantino's latest slave action opus Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx. “She doesn’t like me talking about it, but she’s working with Tarantino,” he adds. “…Here we are ten years later, and my daughter is working with Quentin. Life is something.”
