Jamie Foxx Showed Love to ‘Incredible’ Nick Cannon for Hosting Beat Shazam

Cannon stepped in as host during season six of the competition series following Foxx’s April 2023 medical emergency.

Jamie Foxx recently expressed his gratitude to Nick Cannon for stepping in as the host of Beat Shazam during season six, following Foxx's brief hiatus due to a private medical emergency in April 2023.

In a clip uploaded by PEOPLE from an upcoming episode, Foxx’s daughter and the show's DJ, Corinne, begins by saying to her father, “Since we had to miss last season, I thought we should take a minute to say thank you to the people who stepped up at the last minute and kept Shazam going.”

Foxx enthusiastically responded, “Yes! Absolutely. Big thank you to the incredible Nick Cannon, who did a great job hosting the show. Give it up for Nick!”

Corinne also acknowledged Kelly Osbourne, adding, “And another big thank you to Kelly Osbourne, who was a wonderful DJ. You both are now forever part of the Beat Shazam family, and we are so grateful.”

Foxx will address the mystery behind his break from the spotlight in an upcoming standup special. He made the announcement while accepting the Producers Award last March from the African American Film Critics Association, revealing that he plans to title the special "What Had Happened Was." There are no updates yet on its release.
