Is Kyrie Irving Trolling Us All Or Does He Really Think The Earth Is Flat?
Kyrie Irving recently sparked surprise when he alluded to believing that the Earth is flat. This is nothing new in the celebrity world (S/O to B.o.B.), but as level-headed as the Cavs point guard was while making that game clinching shot in Game 7 of last year’s NBA finals, you’d think he’d think like the rest of us when it comes to the most basic of scientific theory.
Kyrie was straight up asked last night (February 17) if he actually did believe the Earth is flat. Not only did he confirm it, he even explained why he doesn’t trust the overwhelmingly accepted theory that Earth is a sphere.
"I've seen a lot of things that my educational system said was real and turned out to be completely fake," he said. "I don't mind going against the grain, in terms of my thoughts and what I believe." It’s fair to question what is taught in school. We’ll give him that. But come’on K.I.
If this wasn’t enough, he then questioned whether dinosaurs actually existed – a theory we thought we’d hear from Betsy DeVos before Kyrie. "They find one bone and make up 98 percent of it digitally," he said. "And then they give it to, uh, pictures of what they should look like."
Ummm… Anyway, there is a possibility that Kyrie is trolling us. Maybe reporters will be less likely to talk with him after a rough game if they think he’s a little off. Regardless, Twitter’s already had their fun. As you’d imagine he got the full B.o.B. treatment.
Kyrie Irving’s latest comments come after it was announced that he’s slated to star in the full-length movie, Uncle Drew. Pepsi revealed Thursday it will turn the 2012 commercial into a much longer picture which portrays an old man, played by Irving, who schools ball players at random pick up games.
Check out Kyrie’s confirmation of his beliefs and the reaction to it below.
