Pusha T's Wife Virginia Opens Up About Feeling Like 'Oddball' Amongst Traditional Rapper Wives
Pusha T’s wife, Virginia Williams, caused quite the debate on social media when she opened up about her experience dating the “Diet Coke” rapper noting that when hanging out with the wives of other emcees in the industry, she often felt like an “oddball,” due to the difference in her appearance.
It all went down during a recent Instagram Q&A session with her online followers when the Black Girls Tennis Club co-founder responded to a fan’s inquiry that asked, “Was it hard dating a celebrity in the beginning?” and “How do you handle it now.”
In a since-deleted screenshot, Williams spoke candidly stating, “If I’m being honest, INITIALLY the only thing hard about it was being ok with being the oddball in the room…not looking like a ‘rapper girlfriend/wife.'”
She also admitted that she used to “feel awkward amongst the women who had a fake a**, bodycon dress, and cake face, but for a while now, I've thought I’m way cooler.”
Williams’ remarks left social media users divided. While many applauded the philanthropist for her transparency, others felt that her comments could have used some editing, as some felt she was uplifting herself but at the cost of other women.
Williams met Pusha T in 2006 at a release party for Clipse's third studio album Hell Hath No Fury. After over a decade of dating, the pair tied the knot on July 21, 2018, at the historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club in Virginia Beach. They share one, Nigel Brixx Thornton, whom they welcomed in June 2020.
