Barack Obama's message for Nike during a visit to the athletic giant's headquarters was a familiar one: "Just do it," he jokingly told CEO Mark Parker — support his Trans-Pacific Partnership, that is.

Parker's rumored gift to the President, an advanced pair of the upcoming Air Jordan MTM design, is a good indication that he's on board with whatever the Commander in Chief is proposing. Designed by the trio of Parker, Tinker Hatfield and Michael Jordan, the sneaker is said to be red, white, and blue and made at Nike's campus. The box the shoes were presented in — emblazoned with "Barack Knows" in Nike's signature font — removes all doubt that Nike and Obama are on the same team.

Parker also stated that Obama would receive a pair of one-of-one Air Force 1s and possibly a pair of Made in USA Flyknits.

Policy wonks point out that Nike is an unusual place for the President to be campaigning for his free trade agreement. The company is notorious for having exploited free trade by contracting factories in Asia, which pay employees an average of 56 cents an hour, to make its sneakers. 
Obama said that if the countries Nike works with would join his Trans-Pacific trade agreement, wages and conditions for workers would improve. Plus, Nike pledged to add 10,000 U.S. jobs in the next ten years if the President's bill passed Congress.
