Evelyn Lozada Scores Book, Movie Deal
Evelyn Lozada is about to go from reality star to full-fledged empire. The Basketball Wives star, the one-time fiance of Boston Celtics all-star Antoine Walker and who is now engaged to NFL star Chad Ochocinco, signed a deal with the publishing division of Cash Money Records. As part of the six-figure contract, Lozada will develop both books and feature film projects, says the Hollywood Reporter.
First on the list is The Wives Association, a book series to be co-authored by novelist and former Law & Order: Criminal Intent writer Courtney Parker. The books will be about "Eve Inez-Landon," a character loosely based on Lozada, and the true stories she has learned from years of dating professional athletes.
“The stories that you hear—what goes on in these relationships, and just being in that circle—I decided to let everyone experience a piece of it for themselves by writing this series of juicy novels,” Lozada said.
Cash Money Content, the publishing division of the record label that is home to hip hop heavyweights Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake, was founded this past February. Among its first titles were Justify My Thug by Wahida Clark and Pimp: The Story of My Life by Iceberg Slim. The goal is to develop film projects based on the books.
