White Man Recorded Yelling 'Shut Up Slave' To A Black Man At Starbucks

William Boucher was tackled by onlookers after punching a bystander.

During an altercation at Starbucks in Chicago’s Loop, a 23-year-old white man was recorded telling a Black man “shut up, slave” just moments before he punched a random bystander in the face.

William Boucher was charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery, Chicago police said. Boucher is scheduled to appear in court on July 5, reported WLS.

  • The fight broke out around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday when Boucher became irate after allegedly getting a drink spilled on him.

"You're disgusting," yells the man in the video.

Eventually the situation escalated to a fight outside the coffee store. During this time, Boucher used racist language and spat at a 30-year-old male and 34-year-old female, said police.

"Calling people racist slurs. When I was coming to work, I was not expecting to see that," said Juan Torres, who works at the Starbucks where the incident happened.

  • As the fight continued outside, Boucher yelled at two Black men recording him.

"Your children are disposable vermin!" he yelled at a man as he spat on him.

After one of the men is spat at, he almost threw a punch, yet others intervened to keep the situation from getting violent. Boucher then continued to berate the man.

"Get on all fours right now! Get on all fours! Do not walk off on two legs!" he yells.

As Boucher walked away, he threw a single punch to a random man and sent him to the ground. The men from before then tackled Boucher to the ground until police arrived.

The unidentified 59-year-old man who Boucher hit was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with an eye injury.
Starbucks employees said the suspect has been a problem customer in the past, but never violent.

  • After the video was posted to social media, people expressed their disgust with Boucher
