Here’s Why Beyoncé Went All Natural For Her Historic 'Vogue' Cover
As if it wasn’t enough that Beyoncé changed the game by hiring the very first Black photographer in Vogue’s 126 years’ history to shoot her editorial cover shoot, we have to admit King Bey had us all shook with her choice to go all-natural for the coveted September issue.
Photographed by Tyler Mitchell, a 23-year-old photographer from Atlanta, the mother of three stunned in her most natural state giving us complete flashbacks to her maturity shoot for the twins.
Choosing to ditch her wigs, hairstylist Neal Farinah admits he felt honored to have braided the Queen’s “all natural curly hair.”
So you may ask yourself, What was behind the natural beauty look?
According to Beyoncé, it’s all to go in line with her thoughts about body acceptance and loving yourself.
“I think it’s important for women and men to see and appreciate the beauty in their natural bodies,” she shared in her open letter for Vogue. “That’s why I stripped away the wigs and hair extensions and used little makeup for this shoot.”
Consider the debate about her natural hair squashed—it’s confirmed, #BeyHive, she woke up like this: Flawless!
